This can be a funny time of year for fashion. The industry has been talking about 2014 fall fashion for what seems like 3 years now, and even though you're starting your fall activities, it's still hotter than ever. At least in the Midwest it is. We had the most strangely cool summer for months and then as soon as the time to start boot shopping and pumpkin spice latte guzzling is just around the corner, BOOM! It's broiling outside.
So anyway, as riveting as all this weather talk is, the point here is that it's time to start thinking about transitioning summer looks into fall looks even though the weather isn't quite there yet. If you need some ideas on ways to do this, look no further than the most fashionable bloggers around...
Why didn't I think of this?! Simply tying a kimono is a genius way to update the look and somehow makes it feel more fall, doesn't it? Picture it with jeans and boots- perfect! (Because Shanna Said So
A colorful and breezy summer ensemble paired with a traditional blue blazer that screams back-to-school makes for a brilliant (and adorable!) summer-to-fall combo. (Gal Meets Glam
And don't start storing your pastels yet! Icy candied hues are going to be big this fall/winter and will look absolutely stunning with your winter whites. (Pink Peonies
An embellished pullover is the perfect comfy pairing to a flirty warm weather skirt. I might need to DIY a sweatshirt like this soon... (Atlantic-Pacific
And the same theory applies here with a graphic sweatshirt/tropical skirt combo that is everything a girl could want. (Happily Grey
And this last one (also Happily Grey
) has nothing to do with summer, but just please can I have this cardigan and live in it until June 2015?
