Get the Look: Pajama Party

Who says fashion can't be comfortable? After a steamy day yesterday (a la derecho), all I could think of while styling this outfit was comfort, comfort, comfort! With a forgiving shape and print, not to mention plenty of room to breath, the pajama pants trend is a perfect option for lounging summer days. While this may seem like a look that only models can pull off, pajama-style pants, in the more tapered version below, can actually be flattering and elongating. A few notes of caution:

1. Stick with silk (or silk-like) woven fabrics and stay away from stretchy, jersey knits, which will up the frump factor into actual pajama levels.

2. Dress up the accessories- think high heels and clutches- to keep the look more Hepburn and less Hefner.

And my favorite thing about this look is that it can perfectly transition into cooler nights, and even right into fall, by adding a motorcycle jacket and swapping out the sandals for classic, pointed-toe pumps.
