Between moving last weekend and launching this site on Monday, I can tell you that the only thing I feel like doing right is maxing out in my cozy chair for the rest of my life. But feelings schmeelings- this girl's got goals and I need to get to work! Here are a couple of things I've got on the calendar this month as well as a super cute (and free!) rotating sticky note to-do list printable at the bottom of this post.
1. Settle in to our new apartment!
The last time we moved, we settled in only about 70% immediately and then still had unpacked boxes 6+ months down the road. I'm determined to do it differently this time by making sure everything has it's permanent place by the end of the month.
2. Finish new site design.
There are SO many things I still want/need to do as far as "launching" the re-brand. A different person may have waited until the right time (i.e. probably not when you're also moving), but I didn't want to keep putting it off, so I launched a little imperfectly. Things like my sidebar and categories still need reworked and I'd also like to create a well-designed newsletter. I've got a laundry list of tasks to check off and hope to get them all done this month.
3. Take new photos.
Taking pictures is among my top 10 least favorite things to do, but I figured you guys are probably a little sick of looking at that same old pic in the sidebar so...
4. Grow my social media stats by 25%.
I shared with you in this week's intro post that a main goal with the new re-brand is to turn my online work into a sustainable business. And at the end of the day, that basically comes down to simple numbers, and mine are pretty low. I can tend to be a very bad blogger when it comes to social media, networking, etc, instead focusing only on content. So I hope that setting a hard goal of 25% will help motivate me to pay more attention to the numbers and grow my blog.
By the way, you can totally help me reach this goal! Are you following me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and Google+? If so, you deserve a trophy. And if not, let's connect and be friends!
5. Create an illustration series for July.
This is one of those tasks that I always have on my wishlist and always end up putting off because at the end of the day, with all the things one absolutely has to do, drawing and painting tend to get cut pretty quickly from the priorities. But it is important to me so I want to keep trying. I haven't decided if this will be something as simple as a wallpaper download or a full-fledged print series, but the goal is to create something. Have anything you'd like to see? Feel free to throw your ideas at me in the comments!
6. Get back on my workout plan.
I know I've mentioned it about 100 times before, but in case you're new, I follow this workout calendar by Cassey Ho of Blogilates. This month it also includes a 30 Day Stretch Project that I'm pretty excited about. I also do a simple 5k walking program from Prevention for the added cardio. I gave myself a week and a half off because I was moving and my muscles felt like they were going to explode. I don't, however, want to lose momentum so I'm getting back in the game this month.
7. Start the office makeover.
Do you remember this, shall we say, "rugged" post a while back where I had hoped to makeover my very second-hand work space? Well, once we found out we were moving, those plans quickly got put on hold. I now have my own little (very little) office that I can't wait to decorate so I will re-kick-off that series later in the month.
8. Do something outside.
This probably sounds hilarious to any outdoorsy people reading this, but once July and August hit this girl will not leave the A/C voluntarily. So I need to take advantage of the semi-cool weather while I can.
9. Fix my hair and put on makeup every day.
I really can't believe that I just had to type that out, but on days where I'm only working from home I have completely let any semblance of a beauty routine go. And I actually love doing my hair and makeup and feel much better about myself once I am "done," so it's a pretty silly thing to skip. I'm really excited to have this as a goal and to experiment with some new beauty looks. I'll post some of my favorites on Instagram using the hashtag #fwsbeautychallenge. If you're feeling like your own routine could use a little pick-me-up, join in and post your own looks (tag @freewillsstudio so I can comment and share)! From a fun new eyeliner technique to a fresh mani, post anything that helps you feel beautiful!
So those are my goals, but making them is just the first step! When it comes to goal-setting it can be so easy to "set it and forget it." That's why the crucial next step towards turning a goal into an achievement is to put your list somewhere so that you'll see it on a regular basis. It serves as a visual reminder of where to place your priorities.
With that in mind, I've made this simple rotating sticky note calendar and I really love how it turned out! You can set your goals for the week, month, year- whatever! And the best part is that once you accomplish your goals, you can rip that Post-It off and start fresh!

This file needs to be printed on 11x17 paper in order to fit standard Post-Its. I had mine printed in full color on 80lb. cardstock at Kinko's for around $1.80.
