Random Weekly Roundup #5

I hope you have all had a great weekend- hopefully soaking up the last days of the laid-back summer vibe. It's really hard to believe summer is coming to a close. It makes me realize how fast this year is flying by! I got engaged this year, well, technically last year, I guess- it was New Year's Eve. And though we planned on a long engagement, I'm suddenly realizing how long it has already been (cue scream-face emoji)! We signed a lease on a new apartment this week (yay!), so that's one major decision taken care of, but now on to wedding planning...I'm not sure how big or small this thing is going to be yet, but I'm thinking about adding a regular wedding feature to the blog as I'm planning, complete with lots of DIYs and money-saving ideas. I'd love to hear what you guys think about this! And now for some things I've been loving this week...

1. BHLDN's Fall '13 Collection

Week5_BHLDN5

So, yes, I'm starting out this wedding-centric entry with a line of bridal gowns, but, hey, I warned you, I've got wedding brain. And besides these pictures are so great, it would be a shame not share them. If you aren't already familiar with the awesomeness that is BHLDN, they are a sister line of the URBN brands (Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Free People...) that was first unveiled (you're welcome) in 2011.. BHLDN has some of the most fashion forward, wearable dresses on the market, and their prices aren't going to kill you- they range from as low as $600 to about $4000, but the majority come in under $2000. They also offer modern takes on bridesmaids dresses and accessories, which can often be hard to find.

And with the lush and dreary landscapes of Ireland as a backdrop, I'm just dying over the romance of the Fall '13 look book. Feast your eyes...

2. P.S.- I love this...

Erica from P.S.- I made this... always has brilliant DIY projects. She is, after all, the High Priestess of DIY blogging. I definitely want to try her latest, a cheap and easy ombré makeup brush holder using salt and chalk. What a brilliant way to jazz up a functional object! Check out the how-to video...

3. Beauty Marc

And speaking of cosmetics, did you know that Marc Jacobs' beauty line just came out? My first thought is that it's got adorable packaging, which I may place an exaggerated sense of importance on, but makeup itself should be pretty, right? Or what's the point? My second thought is, that it seems completely appropriate that the man who made grunge style glamorous in the 90s would be releasing a cosmetics line now, when grunge style is having a major moment. And in such a deliciously 90s color palette...obsessed. Anyway, while I'm definitely not going to drop $78 on a bronzer brush anytime soon, there are plenty more affordable, covetable items in the line. Here are some of my favorites, or you can check out the whole line at Sephora.com...

4. Cat Power

If you like things that are both hilarious and adorable, which I'm going to go ahead and assume you do, then you need to look at this article from The Daily Beast, The 9 Hottest Power Cats of Instagram. And then you can write them a thank you letter, because your feed just got so much cuter. Here are two of my favorites (click to go directly to their Instagram profiles)...
